Hyderabad, November 26: The People’s Front, comprising of Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and Communist Party of India (CPI), has unveiled a Common Agenda which it proposes to implement if voted to power in next Assembly elections.
The Common Agenda was announced on Monday evening in a press conference addressed by TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana TDP President L. Ramana, TJS President Prof. M. Kodandaram and CPI leader Narayana. The 5-five page Common Agenda covers various subjects concerning different sections of the society. The major promises include administrative reforms, probe into the irregularities in irrigation projects, doubling of Aasra pension amount, crop loan waiver up to Rs. 2 lakh, release of calendar for recruitments and increase in budget for education, health and infrastructure. The age limit for Old Age pension will be reduced to 58 years and both husband and wife would get the Old Age pension.
Speaking on the occasion, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the alliance of four parties would be called the People’s Front and the Common Agenda has been finalised with consensus. He said a committee has been constituted to ensure proper implementation of Common Agenda and it would be headed by Prof. Kodandaram as Convener and he would have the Cabinet Rank. He said representatives of Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI would be part of the committee.
